Soundation Project

This week in my Digital Media class, we learned how to make our very own audio mashup using the application, Soundation . Learning how to use this application was fun, but also very frustrating and time consuming. When exploring the different sound effects it had, I was most interested in how each effect that had the word "Synth" in it sounded. It sounded like each had a electronica/pop sound to it, which I liked. I wanted to make an upbeat song and wanted the sounds to be similar, but different to each other. All of the sounds I chose had Synth in the title, such as "130 SynthSidechained C. wav" and "120 SynthSong C. wav." Combining some of the music was fun to do, but it was frustrating trying to figure out how to end the song and make the volume go down when it ended. I do, however, like how the song sounds when it first starts and the repetition of some of the music I chose to use. I was trying to make it sound like a song with the chorus musi

Typology Project

Image
This week in my digital media class, we were asked to create our own typology grid based off the work of Bernd and Hilla Becher.  We had to take 16 photos that were similar, but different.  I decided to take 16 pictures of 16 permanent markers I had in my art supplies.  We had to use Pixlr's Advanced Photo Editor to edit them and create a 4x4 grid.  The hardest thing in doing this project was taking the pictures because I tried to place them all evenly on the white paper I used for the background, but some of them show more of the black marker below the colored caps more than others.  Although each picture isn't exactly perfect to each other, I am overall very pleased with how my typology grid turned out and the rainbow colors it makes as a whole.

Urban Landscape Animoto Video

For this week’s assignment in my digital media class, we were asked to create a 30 second video clip using our “Urban Landscape” photos that we took.  For this video, I got out of my comfort zone a bit and challenged myself to create a video that had a dark theme to it. I chose the song “Warriors (Instrumental)” by Skye Holland because I loved how dramatic and deep it sounded.  I felt like it complimented my photos well and selected my "darker" Urban Landscape photos to give my video dark feel to it.  Although I like music that is happier, I am content with how it all came out in the end.
