Pencil and Paper Organizer

Image
Desks have a lot of space for many items, such as pencils, pens, markers, highlighters, and paper.  During the school year, my desk has gotten filled with many papers, pens, and pencils that it’s hard to keep organized sometimes.  I created this Pencil and Paper Organizer to help keep my desk a bit more organized.  What’s great about this type of organizer is that it acts like a pencil holder, but can also hold some loose pieces of paper that you have lying on your desk.  It is a great DIY for keeping your stationary organized and also your life organized so you know where to find your pencils and papers that you might need to grab on the go.   To create this Pencil and Paper Organizer, I first started off by getting two empty Ritz cracker boxes.  I cut one of them shorter than the other for smaller items to fit inside.  I didn’t have hot glue in my house at the time, so I took clear packaging ...

DIY Notebooks

Image
If you’re like me and dislike the look of plain solid colored notebooks that you may have, then this DIY will bring some colorful designs to your notebooks. I created different DIY notebook covers because I had a bunch of plain notebooks I needed for school and disliked all the solid colors it originally had on them.  It didn’t motivate me to want to even look at my notebooks because they didn’t have much color to it.  One thing to know about me is that I love art that has a lot of colors in it.  So instead of wasting money on trying to buy notebooks that already had cute designs on them, I collected the craft supplies that I already had at home, and started to create my own designs.       For the first two notebooks, I used the same materials, but in different colors, so I could tell what subjects they were for.  The first one I made was for my anatomy class.  I first took a piece of copy paper from my prin...

Bathroom Organizer

Image
I created this DIY to help organize all the bathroom items that my dad and I use every day.  In our main bathroom, we have a white storage box next to our sink.  We store our bathroom essentials inside the storage box, but leave out our everyday items on top of it.  Once I was fed up with how messy the top had become with all our everyday items just laying on it with no organization, that is when I decided to create an organizer for all those items.  To create this DIY Bathroom Organizer, I took two tissue boxes that were empty and cut off the top of them.  I organized the boxes with my items and my dad’s.  I decided not to decorate the outside of the boxes because I liked the designs it already had on it.  I did decide to decorate the insides because I didn’t want to wake up looking inside a plain brown tissue box.  I wanted to make the boxes more colorful and interesting looking.  ...

DIY Fabric Posters

Image
I made this DIY for fun! If you have old clothes that you don’t wear anymore, but still like how it looks or a certain design on it, then this DIY will be fun for you to create!   The first poster I made was with an old nightshirt I had.  I really liked how the shirt looked with the “Why Stop Dreaming When You Wake Up?” quote on it and didn’t feel like throwing or giving it away, so instead, I decided to repurpose it.  To repurpose it, I cut the shirt down to the size of a rectangular poster and then stapled it onto a poster board (tip: I suggest that you should glue it on since that will hold it better and make it look nicer).  I didn’t have glue at the time I made this DIY, so I improvised.  I then hung it on my wall with clear tape and it looked super cute, especially at night, since it was a glow-in-the-dark nightshirt!  The second poster I made was with one of my old summer dresses I used to wear.  It was a yell...

Telephone Table Organizer

Image
Hello everyone!  Welcome to my first DIY project that I will share!  If you have an entry or telephone table near your front door and place your everyday to-go objects on it, then this DIY is perfect for you!    What you will need: One big cardboard box (shoe box or a frozen pizza box) Various smaller size boxes that can fit in the bigger box (I suggest 3 so you have an open space for bigger items that you need to store) Construction paper, scrapbook paper, fabric, or foam  Hot glue or regular glue Scissors Tape (optional if glue is not available at your disposal)  A creative mind :)  I created this DIY Telephone Table Organizer for my dad because he always kept his items that he needed with him everyday on our telephone table.  Once I saw how messy the table appeared frequently from all the papers and objects he placed on it, I decided to reorganize it for him so he would have a much easier access to his everyday on-the-...

Video Mashup

Image
This week, we were asked to make a video mashup with our audio mashup we created a few weeks ago.  I used iMovie to create my video. Making this video mashup was fun for me to create, but was also very time consuming.  I believe that I was successful in bringing it all together and finding video clips for each audio sound in my song.  I wanted to make an upbeat and fun video to match my audio clip and I think I was successful in doing that.  I chose many random clips, but was also trying to make it somewhat cohesive with the video graphics and dance clips I chose.  My favorite clip is the band playing the xylophone because I think it fits well with the xylophone sound I chose in that part of the song. The music in my audio clip sounded upbeat and I wanted to include some hip hop dance clips to make it like a dance video.  I chose the ballet dance for the last clip because I thought it fit well and was calming with the ...

Soundation Project

This week in my Digital Media class, we learned how to make our very own audio mashup using the application, Soundation . Learning how to use this application was fun, but also very frustrating and time consuming. When exploring the different sound effects it had, I was most interested in how each effect that had the word "Synth" in it sounded. It sounded like each had a electronica/pop sound to it, which I liked. I wanted to make an upbeat song and wanted the sounds to be similar, but different to each other. All of the sounds I chose had Synth in the title, such as "130 SynthSidechained C. wav" and "120 SynthSong C. wav." Combining some of the music was fun to do, but it was frustrating trying to figure out how to end the song and make the volume go down when it ended. I do, however, like how the song sounds when it first starts and the repetition of some of the music I chose to use. I was trying to make it sound like a song with the chorus musi...
