Bathroom Organizer

I created this DIY to help organize all the bathroom items that my dad and I use every day.  In our main bathroom, we have a white storage box next to our sink.  We store our bathroom essentials inside the storage box, but leave out our everyday items on top of it.  Once I was fed up with how messy the top had become with all our everyday items just laying on it with no organization, that is when I decided to create an organizer for all those items. 

To create this DIY Bathroom Organizer, I took two tissue boxes that were empty and cut off the top of them.  I organized the boxes with my items and my dad’s.  I decided not to decorate the outside of the boxes because I liked the designs it already had on it.  I did decide to decorate the insides because I didn’t want to wake up looking inside a plain brown tissue box.  I wanted to make the boxes more colorful and interesting looking. 




I decorated the inside of the boxes with scrapbook paper. For my dad’s box, I gave him an orange colored scheme because that is his favorite color.  I didn’t put any smaller boxes inside his because I wanted to give him enough space to place all his items, such as his shaver, shaving cream, and toothpaste.  For my box, I made a blue color scheme to match the outside of the box I had.  I inserted two toilet paper rolls on the ends to place any extra toothbrushes that we got from the dentist.  I colored mine pink and my dad’s blue so we knew whose toothpaste was whose.  I left the rest of the space open to hold my shaver and toothpaste.  




As you can see from the close up of my toothbrush holder, I also placed a hair tie around it so I could put my hair up when washing my face. After I created the organizers, I put all the items inside, and placed it on top of the storage box.  I loved how the organizers turned out and am glad that I re-organized this space.  My dad and I have been using this organizer for a few years now and it has been very useful for both of us.  

What you will need to recreate this DIY:
  • Two tissue boxes or any other big box (number doesn’t matter as long as you have enough space to store all your items)
  • Scrapbook paper 
  • Two toilet paper rolls or smaller boxes (optional) 
  • Glue or tape
  • Scissors
  • Whatever other materials you would like to decorate your organizer with.  
Step 1: Gather an empty box or two to organize your everyday bathroom items 
Step 2: Decorate the boxes however you would like     
Step 3: Place any other materials such as toilet paper rolls or smaller boxes inside your organizer.
Step 4: Place your bathroom items inside it and enjoy using your new bathroom organizer!

This week, we were asked to make a video mashup with our audio mashup we created a few weeks ago.  I used iMovie to create my video. Making this video mashup was fun for me to create, but was also very time consuming.  I believe that I was successful in bringing it all together and finding video clips for each audio sound in my song.  I wanted to make an upbeat and fun video to match my audio clip and I think I was successful in doing that.  I chose many random clips, but was also trying to make it somewhat cohesive with the video graphics and dance clips I chose.  My favorite clip is the band playing the xylophone because I think it fits well with the xylophone sound I chose in that part of the song. DIY Bracelets

This DIY is great if you like wearing bracelets.  I created this DIY because I like wearing bracelets and I thought it would be cool to make it out of sleeves from old t-shirts that I had.     I first started off by going through the old shirts I had and picked which sleeves I wanted to use as bracelets.     I cut off the sleeves I wanted and cut it down to where it stopped by my wrist.   For the first bracelet I made, I used a plain pink sleeve and glued the edges that I cut to create the bracelet.  I made sure that the fabric could fit on my wrist and could be easily taken off.  Once the bracelet fit, I then took another old shirt I had, cut out a peace design I liked and glued it on top of the bracelet to add some color to it.  I later added beads on the ends of the bracelet from a beading technique I learned how to do in my Senior Humanities class.   For the second bracelet I made, I repeated the same process I did for the first bracelet, but used diffe

Generative Art

This week we learned about generative art in digital media.  Generative art is digital art made by using an online software.  For our assignment, we had to use the software ScribblerToo and Flame to create four images – two from each software.   Girl with Hair Ribbon  Rainbow Rubik's Cube  Comparisons to reference pictures:      For the ScribblerToo drawings, we had to use an image for as a reference for one drawing and have a sense of volume for our second drawing.  In my first drawing, I used Roy Lichtenstein’s  Girl with Hair Ribbon , 1965 as my reference.  I came across that image when looking for Pop Art images because I like Pop Art and wanted to use a 2-dimensional painting for my drawing reference.  For my image, I didn’t use a big brush size because I wanted it to look very similar to the painting, in addition to adding my own style to it.  Instead of trying to make the colored dots on the girl’s face, eyes, and lips, I just used one solid color to
